ERA organised the ‘IMPEL Nature Protection Group’ expert meeting, bringing together enforcement experts from across Europe to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration. IMPEL is the European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law, which ERA forms part of.
During the meeting, as part of the ‘EU Action Plan Against Wildlife Trafficking – Joint Inspections’, international officers joined ERA during sea patrols in Malta, carrying out compliance checks including those related to the ban on the harvesting of sea urchins and activities within marine protected areas.
With the support of the Malta Police Force and the Civil Protection Department, these efforts highlight the importance of collaboration in protecting our natural environment.
