ERA CEO Kevin Mercieca, together with other ERA officials, recently attended the 45th meeting of the Network of Heads of Environment Protection Agencies in Zagreb.
The plenary brought together leaders from environment agencies across Europe, alongside representatives from the European Commission. Key discussions focused on EU priorities, including simplification, competitiveness, and resilience for environmental agencies. The path ahead for nature restoration was also a major focus, as Member States begin preparing their first national plans, along with ongoing challenges such as transboundary air pollution.
A particularly engaging session explored how environmental messages can be communicated more clearly, and which platforms are best suited to connect with our audience.
We thank the organisers, the Croatian Institute for Environment and Nature and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, for an excellent event.
We now look forward to welcoming the network to Malta for the 46th plenary this October.
