ERA participated in the launch of COMPLY, a digital platform developed by the University of Malta in collaboration with other entities to help businesses and professionals better understand and apply environmental regulations.
ERA contributed its experience in implementing the Construction and Demolition Waste Framework (S.L. 549.161). A Pre-Demolition Audit (PDA) must be submitted to ERA for major planning applications and residential developments of 16 units or more to support proactive construction waste management. This procedure applies from 1 January 2026.
During the session, Darrin Stevens, Director Environment and Resources, highlighted the role of environmental regulation in supporting sustainable development, while Daniel Grima Duca, Deputy Director Regulatory Affairs, spoke about the importance of collaboration between regulators, industry, professionals and researchers in achieving better compliance outcomes.
