The European Commission in collaboration with UNEP-WCMC have launched the ‘Species+’ app.

This Species+ is free to download and includes key information on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered species (CITES), Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and EU Wildlife Trade Regulations (EUWTR) listings, CITES suspensions and quotas, and EU decisions, as well as information on the nomenclature and distribution of each species. I

Information on all species is available online- and an offline mode for the app has been developed, allowing users to access information on any previously searched for species and any species that have been ‘bookmarked’ without an internet connection.

 The Species+ app will prove to be a valuable tool that helps owners of such species identify the legal requirement and Member States with CITES, CMS and EUWTR implementation.
