Introduction
This privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) provides information about how the Environment & Resources Authority (hereinafter referred to as “ERA”) handles data pertaining to Monstair App users (hereinafter referred to as “user” or “users”). ERA is firmly committed to respecting individuals’ privacy and confidentiality of their personal data. In fact, ERA does not collect any personal information about its users unless a user provides such data voluntarily through the submission of feedback.
This Policy covers any personal data which might be provided voluntarily to ERA by a user through the Monstair App. All Personal Data shall be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta) (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”) and subsidiary legislations thereunder and the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter referred to as the “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”).
Definitions
“Application” or “App” refers to the Monstair Application, which App has as its primary objective the raising of awareness on air quality and how individual choices may influence this.
“Data subject” refers to any living person (natural person) whose Personal Data is being collected, held or processed.
“Personal Data” or “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
“User” refers to any individual who opts to download and play the App.
What Personal Data ERA collects from Monstair App
No Personal Data shall be collected from the App per se. The only option where one can voluntarily submit personal data is through inputting such in the feedback section in the App. There is no obligation to submit feedback through the app and the feedback section itself does not request any personal data, however one may input free text in the feedback section. Feedback can only be submitted once per device. Upon the submission of the feedback, the App shall automatically grant access to another game background available in the App.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data that the site transfers to the user’s device when the user visits the website. ERA hereby confirms that this App does not make use of cookies.
Retention policy
Any Personal Information which may be voluntarily submitted through the App will be kept by ERA only for as long as it is necessary to do so, or as required by law. When the Personal Information that is no longer required it will be disposed of in an efficient manner ensuring that such information is no longer available within the ERA.
Your rights
You are entitled to know, free of charge, what type of information has been provided to the ERA through the app, how it is held and for how long. Finally, you can also request ERA to delete any personal information which you provide. Such requests shall be made in line with ERA’s GDPR Policy.
