Over the past few weeks, the ERA carried out conservation works to safeguard the sand dune ecosystems at Ġnejna and Għadira beaches.

At Ġnejna Bay, the existing cordoning was replaced with stronger and more durable materials to further support dune restoration efforts such as newly planted species.
 
At Għadira Bay, new cordoning and signage were installed around the remnants of an old sand dune system which was recently identified by ERA and Ambjent Malta.
 
These sensitive habitats should be respected by avoiding trampling to protect the species within.
