During our routine inspections within Marine Protected Areas, we frequently find waste at sea. This time, ERA officers recovered a discarded water heater, which was later disposed of responsibly.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), large household items and any other waste dumped in the natural environment can cause serious harm to marine ecosystems, wildlife and the quality of our environment.
If you have bulky waste to dispose of, use the free bulky waste collection service offered by your Local Council. Make an appointment to have the items collected from your doorstep.
