Illegal sea urchin harvesting in Marsaskala!
On Sunday 30 August 2026, the Malta Police Force and ERA enforcement officers apprehended a person who had allegedly harvested 25 protected sea urchins from Maltese waters. The case will be brought before Court.
Unfortunately, the sea urchins could not be returned to the sea as they had already died.
