The Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) is launching a Call for Proposals under the Environment Fund to financially support the repairs of damages caused by Storm ‘Harry’ (January 2026) in public open spaces.

Eligible Repair Initiatives

Applications may target repair works related to the following initiatives:

  • Environmental clean-ups
  • Environmental restoration
  • Replanting of lost native vegetation
  • Restoration of green spaces
  • Replenishment of soils and other substrates
  • Repair of rubble or dry-stone walls

Eligible Participants

This Call is open to Local Councils and applies to damages in areas falling under their responsibility. Where damage spans more than one locality, joint applications are encouraged. In such cases, the application should be submitted by the lead Local Council and endorsed by the supporting Local Councils.

Local Councils may submit proposals covering repairs in multiple sites within the same locality, provided all damages are linked to Storm ‘Harry’.

Budget and Funding

The overall budget for this Call shall be EUR 500,000. ERA will cover 100% of the eligible costs up to a maximum of EUR 50,000 per Local Council.

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Local Councils must declare that the costs for which funding is requested have not been recovered from any other source.

Repair works should be completed within one (1) year from the award of funding. Extensions may be granted at the discretion of ERA, subject to justification based on the nature of the works.

Application Procedure

Completed Application Forms must be submitted to ERA by 12 April 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (local time). Late submissions will not be considered.

ERA reserves the right to; close the Call earlier than announced, extend the deadline, re-issue the Call if the budget is not fully allocated.

ERA may also request clarifications or rectifications during the application period.
